Ethan Landis has been passionate about Landis | Architects Builders and design/build residential remodeling since starting the company with his architect brother in 1990. e company, finding, hiring, and motivating talented Ethan employees, and loves the business side of things – building the company, finding, hiring and motivating talented employees – and working with his team to partner with clients to deliver dream spaces and home improvements. Landis A|B has won regional Contractor of The Year awards every year for the past 25 years. His firm is based in Takoma DC and licensed in DC, MD & VA. Ethan is an expert in building science. Starting in 2009 and for more than a decade Ethan was a member of DC’s Construction Code Coordinating Board, helping to update DC’s construction codes and adopt the first round of green construction codes. He and his firm have twice received the Mayor’s Sustainability Award for their leadership in sustainable design and construction. Ethan has maintained an active interest in DC’s need to build green infrastructure and storm water retention tunnels. He served two terms on the Mayor’s Green Building Advisory Board, responsible for overseeing DC’s Green Building Act. From 2018 through 2023 he has been a board member of Rock Creek Conservancy where he helped raise awareness of the Rock Creek watershed and the need for its protection, and he continues to advocate for the restoration and reopening of the historic Carter Barron Amphitheatre in RCP. Ethan and his wife Jude live in the Crestwood neighborhood of DC adjacent to Rock Creek Park. They enjoy the hiking trails in the park and love spending time at their family “farm” in central Vermont. They have two adult sons. Ethan enjoys downhill skiing, fishing, photography, ping pong, frisbee, hiking and backpacking.

  • George Washington University, MBA in finance
