In March 2016, Nick Kuttner, Potomac Riverkeeper Network Vice Chair and our representative in the Lower Potomac, met with the Potomac River Association in Leonardtown. His message to them was that in order for our Riverkeepers to do their work we have to partner with local community groups. The local community groups know and can identify the specific challenges that their waterways face. Nick let them know that PRKN has the goal of covering the entire almost 15,000 square mile watershed and PRKN plans to add a Riverkeeper for the Lower Potomac. The timeline for this in unknown because PRKN needs to obtain sustainable funds for the position. Read more about his meeting with the Potomac River Association.
