RiverPalooza: Pedal to Paddle Scenic Adventure

July 27 @ 9:00 AM 4:30 PM

Rain Date: July 29, 2024

Join your Upper Potomac Riverkeeper on a scenic adventure up the C&O Canal path and down the Potomac River from Cohill Station Canoe Access to the boat ramp in Hancock, MD. This trip combines two wonderful ways to see the nature and history of the Potomac River.

We will all meet at the Hancock boat ramp to start our journey. Along the 6 mile C&O Canal Bike path you will see geologic wonders like the Devil’s Eyebrow Anticline and historic structures like Round Top Cement Mill ruins. You will have the opportunity for lunch and hear from your Upper Potomac Riverkeeper at the Cohill Station Canoe Access. Once our bikes are secured for transport back to Hancock, we will launch in our kayaks or canoes for a 7 mile float trip on easy water back to the boat ramp. You are more than welcome to bring your own bike or boat. There is an option to rent a bike from C&O Bicycle in Hancock. Our outfitter and guide for the day is Mike Dudash with Eagle Aquatics Inc.
