Water Wednesday: A Tale of Two Rivers
Location: Online
Date: September 30th
Time: 12PM – 1PM

The Potomac River is a haven for many of us. It provides a space for recreation including kayaking, fishing, paddleboarding, and even open water swimming, but is it safe? Urban stormwater, sewage overflows, agricultural runoff, and industrial pollution all threaten the ecology of the River, and the safety of those who recreate on it.

We face a dichotomy of two rivers; a beautiful respite and a pollution disposal area. Join us on Wednesday, September 30th to learn how Potomac Riverkeeper Network is working towards transforming these two rivers into one clean and safe Potomac River. Nancy Stoner will discuss how often it’s safe to go in the water, how you can protect yourself and your family from getting sick from exposure to polluted water, and how you can help to clean it up.
