Join your Shenandoah Riverkeeper for a gentle and beautiful float down the Shenandoah River where we put in at the Andy Guest Shenandoah River State Park and float down to the Karo Landing. Accompanying us on this trip will be two avid birders from the Potomac Valley Audubon Society, Elliot and Nancy Kirschbaum, and they will help us identify the birds and waterfowl we see along the way. As a bonus, we get to glide past a large Great Blue Heron rookery. Easy riffles and deeper pools that are perfect for anyone wanting to wet a line in pursuit of smallmouth bass characterize this stretch. Come be a part of Potomac Riverkeeper Network’s RiverPalooza 2017 as we celebrate the Shenandoah and see why your Riverkeeper works so hard to protect its clean waters.
Anyone fishing over 16 years of age will need a VA license. Event will be held rain or shine as long as the river conditions permit safe paddling.
