RiverPalooza–Summer Solstice Paddle–Washington Canoe Club

RiverPalooza

Come out after work to enjoy the longest day of the year at the Washington Canoe Club. Join your Potomac Riverkeeper for our Monuments paddle which is part of Potomac Riverkeeper Network’s RiverPalooza 2017. Learn about the history of the Potomac and the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail. The guided paddle tour will involve a trip around Roosevelt Island (formerly Mason Island) that is now a memorial to Theodore Roosevelt, America’s 26th president and a champion for clean water and conservation. Join us for a casual barbecue before the paddle between 5:00 and 6:30pm! Bring something for the grill! Paddle safety talk will begin promptly at 7 PM. Come help us celebrate the Potomac River and emphasize the continued importance of protecting its clean waters!

This is a bring you own boat (BYOB) paddle. Sorry, there are no boats available to rent for this trip.

No alcohol will be consumed before the paddle.
